Five Pack Studios is my studio. It is where I take commissions, make one-off pieces, and follow the projects that have a particular purpose, or that simply will not leave me alone.

Five Pack Studios and Emberwright Enterprises are two separate companies that work closely together. Both are mine; the work outgrew one company.

Every detail
has a reason.

The character of a work lives in the decisions that shape it.

    Material

    Begin with what is there.

    Grain, weight, texture, and light. The wood decides most of it before I do.

    Aetherwood comes from Emberwright. This is where I get to play with it.

    Form

    Give each line a purpose.

    Proportion, balance, and the meeting of parts. A strong form holds together at a distance and rewards a closer look.

  3. III

    Purpose

    Understand what matters.

    Who it is for, where it will live, and why it is being made. Get those right and the rest follows.

The Hearth Project is Emberwright's promise to put what it earns toward helping people make things. Five Pack Studios keeps that promise too.

The studio store directly supports the Ember Fund, beginning with the capital needed to establish it officially.

Finished work from the studio. As new sets come off the bench, each one gets its own shelf here.

Each Showcase Platter is in the studio now as a work in progress. A pre-order makes your piece a priority to finish, in about two weeks, with the Aetherwood border of your choice.

Every piece is finished with the TEMPEST system. A platter finished without a pre-order costs more.
